Daily Challenge

Compete against your friends or the Global Community to become New Elysium's best shaper!

Every day, a new Daily Challenge is generated, featuring different levels, foes and reward combinations. Earn the most points and defeat the Overlord as fast as you can!

How to unlock

The Daily Challenge is unlocked as soon as the first Tower is liberated.

A popup message will confirm that the mode is now unlocked when reaching the next Tower Selection menu.

If players have already defeated and Overlord and liberated their first Tower in any Save File, the Daily Challenge will unlock when opening the Main Menu.

How it works

The Daily Challenge will generate a Tower Floor randomly each day. The game uses a seed system to ensure the room layout, and every encounter, reward and enemy will remain the same for the duration of the challenge to ensure fair competition between the players.

By completing different actions, players will award points, used in the Leaderboard to rank the best player for each day. Check below for the full information regarding how the Score System works.

The Leaderboard can show the Global standings, and also filter to compare the best scores from your friends list.

Differences

While the regular run will offer up to 7 floors of content, the Daily Challenge was made to be a quicker experience. A single floor will make the challenge brief, also testing how players deal with a smaller pool of equipment and enhancements.

Speaking of rewards, players will begin their challenge with the following gear:

  • Two weapons
  • One ability
  • One Major Enhancer
  • Two Minor Enhancer
  • Shaper Hack

The choices at the beginning of the floor, and the rewards from rooms and challenges are all invariable for the current seed.

Players will also have all the talents and and gear unlocked for the challenge. This means players can try gear they currently have not discovered.

Having every feature unlocked includes the Cores: They will be unlocked and at affinity level 4, the Primary and Secondary Cores will be randomized each day, challenging players to structure their build around the enhancements available on that challenge.

The Score System

Players are scored based on a few actions:

Actions that award points
Action Score
Defeat marked foes +7
Takedown on exposed marked foes +10
Complete optional challenges +125
Complete minor opportunities +20
Defeat the Overlord +250
Avoid damage +2 x (Remaining HP)
Have time left +Remaining Time

Note that defeating non-marked enemies does not grant any points.

Defeating Enemies

Enemies with the Star marked below their heath bar will be the main source of points during the run.

By defeating a Marked enemy, players are awarded +7 points.

Defeating a Marked (⭐ ) enemy awards players +7 points.

If an exposed enemy is defeated by having a Takedown being executed, an additional 3 points are granted, awarding +10 points total.

Takedown on a Marked (⭐ ) enemy awards players +10 points.

Note that as of Update 1.1.1, all marked enemies will be exposed when their health is depleted, however they are still influenced by additional damage and will also die after a few seconds.

Completing Objectives

There are two types of objectives that award points upon successful completion: Optional Challenges and Minor Opportunities.

  • Optional Challenges (+125 points):
    • Shaper Rifts
    • Corruption Nests
    • Elite Gateways
    • Beacon Captures
  • Minor Opportunities (+20 points):
    • Corrupted Vaults
    • Corrupted Lootboxes
    • Cache Keys

Completing a run

By completing the challenge, the player will be awarded +250 points for defeating the current Overlord, additional points equal the remaining time in seconds and additional points equal twice the amount of health remaining.
